QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) - Computer Science, Software Engineering or a relevant field
  • Professional IS audit qualification (CISA, CISM, CISSP etc)
  • 10+ years’ experience in auditing / risk management or equivalent exposure in jobs involving reviews of IS, IT infrastructure, IT processes and procedures, cyber security, software development etc.
  • Experience in Information Technology, CyberSecurity, IS Audit
  • Consideration may be given to those with fewer years provided they have suitable experience.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE: ABOUT THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will plan, manage and deliver comprehensive assurance and advisory services, with a view to providing management with an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance across the Emirates Group. Proactively advise and assist management in the identification and cost-effective mitigation of risks, as well as in achieving protection and efficient utilisation of corporate resources. Lead a comprehensive Information Systems (IS) Audit and Internal Audit data analytics service and maintain and enhance Internal Audit’s existing technology environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop and implement a risk based IS assurance strategy, through the identification and assessment of IS risk and control across the Emirates Group.
  • Provide an advanced Internal Audit data analytics capability and systems environment, to support assurance and advisory activity across the Emirates Group.
  • Develop relationships with key members of senior management (VPs/SVPs/DSVPs/EVPs etc) across the Emirates Group and advise them on the implementation of effective IS risk management and internal control.
  • Ensure audit teams comply with internationally accepted auditing standards and codes of ethics published by regulatory bodies including the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
  • Develop and maintain contacts with professional bodies (e.g., IS Audit, IT and IS Security professions) as well as external entities (e.g., Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), International Association of Airline Internal Auditors (IAAIA), external auditors and government auditors) to keep up to date with emerging best practices to apply them when and where appropriate.
  • Develop and lead training programmes to upskill Internal Audit staff in the use of various data analytic and IT risk management/control testing tools and techniques.
  • Maintain and enhance Internal Audit’s existing technology environment, including an in-house Audit Management Solution and infrastructure to support an advanced Internal Audit data analytics capability. Lead, manage and optimise processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modelling, visualising, and communicating deliverables. Ensure compliance with all Emirates Group IT standards for all of the aforementioned Internal Audit activity.
  • Take responsibility for achieving Internal Audit department metrics/key performance indicators through effective delivery of a broad range of risk, assurance, and advisory services.
  • Establish position across the department as a thought leader and expert in their field. Act as an ambassador and sharer of knowledge and provide strategic guidance in talent management by steering team performance through coaching, supporting staff with development and progression, mentoring high performers, and building a succession plans within GIA. Enable the team to flourish through high levels of engagement, productivity, and nurture and attract high performing experts including the development of UAE National Talent. Act as a role model for the My BC process through the timely completion of reviews and active participation in the department’s performance calibrations.
