6-12 month contract opportunity with a tier-1 mining client
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Network Engineer to join our mining company. As a Principal Network Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in network architecture, design, and implementation. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
- Excellent knowledge of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) concepts.
- Hold a CCNP/IE certification or operate at a CCNP level across multiple domains.
- Strong understanding and experience with wireless, networking, enterprise switching, security, WAN, and data centre domains.
- Ability to work in challenging environments such as rack stack or substations.
- Proficiency in leading teams and coordinating work in communication infrastructure environments.
- Expertise in risk assessment, management of change, and uplifting electrical drawings.
- Fluent in Firewall management systems/IPS/IDS, including rule consolidation, migrations, and advanced work.
- Experience providing Level 3+ advanced protocol level support and remediation.
- Ability to design, build, configure, and deploy ISE/DNAC/Solarwinds systems.
- Familiarity with hardware (Cisco/Checkpoint) firewall models and functionality.
- Strong planning and change management skills for production systems.
- Knowledge of Autonomy/Controls systems/DRS/LTE Power and Water platforms.

- Develop and provide Governance and Technical Stewardship to Reference Architectures/Patterns and Standards.
- Operate at a CCNP level across Wireless/Networking/Enterprise switching/Security/WAN/Data Centre domains.
- Work in rack stack, substation, or environments with communications infrastructure and lead teams for related tasks.
- Lead risk assessments, Management of Change, and uplift electrical drawings.
- Manage and maintain Firewall management systems/IPS/IDS, including rule consolidation, migrations, and advanced work.
- Provide Level 3+ advanced protocol level support and remediation.
- Design, build, configure, and deploy ISE/DNAC/Solarwinds systems, develop policies, and perform maintenance.
- Act as the technical point of contact for TAC cases, driving vendors towards technical resolutions.
- Possess a solid understanding of hardware (Cisco/Checkpoint) firewall models and functionality.
- Develop plans (FAT/SAT/Commissioning) and advanced change management for all production systems, including Autonomy/Controls systems/DRS/LTE Power and Water platforms.
