Description:

The role
Reporting to the Manager QCTCU, Office of Research & Innocation, the Principal Policy Officer position will provide authorative advice toward the development, implementation and maintenance of Queensland Health research ethics and governance directive. In this role you will provide strategic advice and analysis of research conduct and management to support senior management and key stakeholders. Knowledge, understanding and lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander culture is a key and mandatory requirement for this role to inform and maintain current and emerging research trends as they relate to opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The successful person
Responsibilities:
- Expert level of knowledge, expertise and skills in complex contemporary health research management practice, particularly as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities.
- Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to openly consult, negotiate and influence key stakeholders within Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities as well as at the organisational state, national, government sectors and industry levels.
- Demonstrated understanding of the QH Research Management Directive/Policy, National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, ICH GCP guidelines.
