Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Principal Power System Analyst to join their dynamic team. As a Principal Power System Analyst, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy storage by providing advanced technical expertise in power system analysis and optimisation. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative energy solutions that drive the global transition to renewable energy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in power system analysis and optimisation, with a focus on renewable energy integration and grid stability.
  • Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or DIgSILENT.
  • Strong understanding of energy storage technologies and their applications in power systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct comprehensive power system studies, including dynamic modeling, stability analysis, and grid integration assessments.
  • Utilise advanced simulation tools to analyse and optimise energy storage system performance, including frequency regulation, voltage support, and peak shaving.
  • Develop and implement algorithms and methodologies for real-time monitoring and control of energy storage assets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop system-level solutions that address customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the design, deployment, and commissioning of energy storage projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assessments of existing energy storage installations, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
  • Analyse market trends and regulatory frameworks to identify new business opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and technical forums to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Lead technical presentations and workshops for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Support the development of project proposals and bids by providing technical input and expertise.
  • Collaborate with research institutions and academia to advance the state-of-the-art in energy storage technologies and applications.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
