DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Principal Process Engineer to join the Decommissioning & Waste Services market within our client’s Nuclear & Power business. Ideally based in Northwest England although other locations UK wide can be considered. This is a full time, permanent staff role, and as a senior engineering role it will require up to 3 to 4 days per week office based attendance with the rest able to be done remotely. THE INDIVIDUAL

  • You will have a background in process engineering, having led teams on engineering projects with integrated multi-disciplinary delivery including mechanical, civil, electrical and control & instrumentation.
  • You should have experience and a level of expertise in nuclear engineering design and substantiation with a good knowledge of UK and International design codes and industry regulations, and preferably be a Chartered member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), or equivalent.
  • We are looking for someone with the ability to lead and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities. Someone who is self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as within a larger multi-discipline team.
  • Excellent team player, able to collaborate effectively with market colleagues, other wider-business colleagues and the leadership team.You should be excited by the opportunity to take on the responsibility to establish and grow a Process Engineering capability within our Engineering group. This opportunity will require working collaboratively allowing you to shape and influence methodologies and delivery close to home and wider.

Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for someone who has experience and expertise in Process Engineering to establish, develop and maintain this capability within our Decommissioning & Waste Services market. We are wanting this capability to complement our existing & well-established core engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil & Structural, and Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) as well as our growing capabilities (Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, Technology Solutions, and Robotics).
  • Responsibilities will develop as this new role grows and becomes better defined but will initially be focused on supporting winning work where Process Engineering is an aspect of the proposal(s) and supporting ongoing projects which uses resource from the supply chain or other businesses. You will also help other discipline engineers understand what Process Engineering is, how it should be used on projects and best practise for collaborative working.This role will look to establish a new capability in the Decommissioning and Waste Services market and as such it comes with the ability to direct and grow the capability & team as is required. This will be done by working with the Head of Engineering and the Nuclear & Power Technical Community Chair. There will also be an element of discussing, planning and agreeing capability development with senior market leaders to get investment buy in and explain the tangible benefits for how we deliver our projects.
