About the role
As ATB’s next Principal Product Manager - Commercial Lending Products, you are a visionary with an exceptional ability to execute while listening to our clients and team members. You bring expertise to your jobs to be done and problems to be solved, ensuring balance between end user needs and enterprise objectives. You understand commercial lending, people, process, technology, and innovation as well as the fine thread that binds all these together to drive value for ATB clients.
You will work closely with experts in product management, design , research and development and inspire others to build products and services clients love. You build actionable plans to manage through the product life cycle through listening to clients, aligning with senior partners and leaders in Business Banking and Capital Markets, conceiving the experiences, designing the outcomes and driving to delivery. You will achieve this by collaborating with key stakeholders and a comprehensive team of experts and opinions that will ensure our success. You will help maximize the potential and adoption of Commercial Lending products by establishing performance benchmarks, usage metrics that drive KPIs and growth. You’ll be curious and understand trends, anticipate market needs, monitor the competition, and ensure ATB is always leading for our clients and Team Members.
The candidate who will thrive in this role will leverage their product expertise to help ATB strategize on how to deliver best in commercial lending products that delight its customers.

Accountabilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of ATB client experience , identify and help fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve client and team member experience, and help drive growth and revenue
  • With a continuously changing/evolving environment , stay abreast of what is current in Commercial Lending products best practices, not only within Financial Institution, but within various industries.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development life cycle: concept, business case, requirements, development, delivery and refinements for Commercial Lending products
  • Manage multiple products/projects and be the “go to “ person for your products including breaking down large goals into tactical steps to demonstrate value and learn to inform future goals
  • Consult and create buy-in on Product Strategy with senior stakeholders and leaders within Business Banking, Capital Markets, Experience Office, and technology teams to provide direction, and make critical decisions.
  • Create and maintain product strategy, vision and roadmap for iterations against client and business outcomes
  • Analyze key metrics to identify new product opportunities and enhancements to existing core capabilities
  • Drive product improvements or new product launch including working cross-functionally with relevant teams and stakeholder groups to support the product throughout the product life cycle
  • Act as enterprise SME on commercial lending products or product line; accountable for delivering annual business objectives
  • Be accountable for delivery of client & business outcomes; discovers, designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products through entire lifecycle
  • Deliver feasible, viable and desirable client experience for product and/or product line by leveraging data insights, partners, and stakeholders

Skills, experience & requirements

Technical Skills:

  • 7+ years of product management experience, preferably on a digital or core banking products
  • Deep understanding of lending experience, preferably commercial /business lending
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience with tools such as Smartsheets, Tableau, JIRA, MIRO
  • Experience leading and facilitating large workshops
  • Previous experience delivering capabilities related to commercial lending

Accreditation

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, computer science or equivalent degree or prior experience as an entrepreneur, product manager, or product designer in a company required
  • AIPMM certified, or equivalent experience preferred
