About the role:
SimCorp has made a significant investment in modernizing our engineering platform to scale to 100+ teams working on a cloud technology transformation.
This journey has involved modernizing the technology foundation for software development to a new tool stack for software engineering, which builds the foundation for automation and CI/CD pipelines for a smooth and fast delivery flow for the teams.
The Product Manager owns the consolidated roadmap of the engineering platform teams and leads a cross-organizational effort from, design, build, and deployment of the new and modernized engineering platform.
The Product Manager works with 3 Product Owners and a Director of Engineering and sets the direction for 6 DevOps teams to ensure the engineering platform can support 100+ teams working on delivering various products to achieve tangible customer outcomes and technology enablers for everything as a Service.
What you will be responsible for:

As our new Product Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the Engineering Platform product, used by all teams in SimCorp Product Development.
  • Defining objectives for own area of responsibility in alignment with the Product Line strategy.
  • The continued evolution of the engineering platform throughout the entire lifecycle from discovery, design, build, launch to sun-setting.
  • Leading cross-organizational discovery teams from product, architecture, services and explore these ideas through discovery, design, build and successfully launch the best ones in collaboration with the teams in product development.
  • Being accountable for business case, cost of the engineering platform and its support model
  • Part of a cross-functional leadership team in Engineering Platform covering product, processes, people, and technology.
  • Collaborating with Product Areas, Global Support and Global Managed Services to refine new products or enhancements to ensure that the build teams in product and service divisions can work effectively.
  • Communicating product strategy and roadmap both internally and externally including Release Demos.

We are looking for a leader who has experience in the intersection between product management and platform development. This means that you bridge the gap between the two in the way that you:

  • Master industry best practices for product management and managed service design and leverage this to drive innovation and adoption.
  • Proficient in a range of facilitation techniques such as value chain mapping, user transaction flows and user story mapping, and applies them to identify users’ needs and value.
  • Stakeholder Management – creates visibility and communication across the organization.

In addition, we are looking for someone who:

  • Created platforms which deliver desired outcomes and that software engineers love to use
  • Experience with software engineering platforms, cloud delivery models and scaling to support many teams.
  • Have applied modern techniques such as outcome engineering, design thinking, build-measure-learn techniques, to create offers that our clients will love to use.
  • Uses a data and fact-based approach to validate market opportunities, ideas, customer insights and outcome realization.
