Description:
The Resilience and Recovery Policy and Program Design team are responsible for designing policies, programs and strategic frameworks to guide, coordinate and prioritise actions in disaster recovery, risk reduction and resilience building prior to and post disaster events.As a Principal Program Officer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Coordinate, allocate and prioritise work tasks across the team ensuring the most effective use of resources, and in line with organisational stakeholder expectations.
- Provide advice and feedback to the manager and stakeholders on funding program design, resilience and recovery policy, and the status of projects and planning activities, identifying any emerging trends, risks and escalating more complex issues as required.
- Guide QRA’s ‘best practice’ approach to recovery and resilience to ensure QRA’s ongoing disaster recovery and resilience practices and funding programs are in line with the governance and objectives of the relevant Queensland disaster recovery and resilience legislation and policy frameworks.
- Lead priority Resilience and Recovery team projects, as required, through co-ordination, engagement and project planning.
- Deliver presentations to key stakeholders and represent QRA’s position in meetings and cross-agency forums, drawing on organisational expertise.
- Provide expert advice on strategic operational matters and project delivery mechanisms in relation to recovery and resilience programs and policy.
- Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the Divisional priorities, projects, and policy initiatives.
- Develop and coordinate internal and external stakeholder engagement at the state and national level for strategic policy and planning activities.
- Liaise with other QRA teams on pre-season preparedness activities for applicants and contribute from a business process perspective.
