Description:

Randstad are seeking applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Principal Civil Project Engineer within a leading mining and resources organisation on a 12-24 month contract.
Reporting to the Lead Project Engineer, The Principal Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for the execution of engineering tasks and the verification of construction methodologies and engineering decisions for projects in alignment with project engineering standards. You will be a conduit between Engineering Service Providers and Engineering Management to drive value optimisation and engineering effectiveness.

Objectives of the role:

  • Effective management of engineering service providers (ESPs)
  • Determine minimum quality requirements, including execution and review of quality management plans
  • Conduct engineering tasks, verify construction methodologies and advises on engineering decisions
  • Employs relevant discipline engineering expertise to meet our clients technical expectations
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and develop a structured approach to solving complex problems.
  • Effective relationships and liaise closely with stakeholders
  • Identify and assess risks, to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Plans and tracks the delivery of projects to generate value
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly
  • Achieving engineering schedule, budget and quality requirements
  • Optimise the design to enable safe and efficient construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance
  • Ensure design meets statutory and company engineering standards
  • Follow engineering & project process and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of engineering schedules and estimates

About you:

  • Demonstrated previous haul road, access track and rail bridge design experience
  • Significant bulk earthworks and drainage exposure for both process and non process infrastructure
  • HV overhead powerline realignment knowledge
  • Previous Geotechnical investigation experience
  • DPS and EXE cost and schedule management
  • A positive attitude and ability to influence change
  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering (mining bulk materials handling experience preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills - including effective communicator, team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office suite experience – Word, Excel & Outlook.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role and preference will be given to those with heavy mining project experience. Take this opportunity to secure a rare role offered on a Monday to Friday Perth based roster. Some site travel is required.
