Minimum Experience Level

  • 6 to 8 years’ experience sourcing, securing and assessing new deals and establishing client relationships in Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB)
  • Knowledge related to Investment Banking products and formulating wholistic solutions for clients.
  • Strong credit risk skills would be advantageou

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

To maximize sustainable revenue streams through the origination and implementation of profitable specialised debt financing transactions in the Corporate commercial property sector.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Originate transactions by scanning the market, marketing and pitching ideas and networking.
  • Evaluate and help develop new products that would help Nedbank create value for their clients particularly in the Corporate Property Sector.
  • Execute transactions by structuring, analysing, negotiating, managing and pitching the deal.
  • Manage costs and contribute to Business Unit cost efficiency by operating within the allocated budget.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders by networking, fostering collaboration, regular communication and complying with the governance and controls.
  • Build and maintain external stakeholder relationships by networking / conferencing, maintaining regular contact, ongoing communication, site visits and pitching ideas.
  • Ensure compliance by sanctions checking and adhering to (FICA, Internal and Environmental) regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Execute credit approval process by rating, pricing, analysing, application, constructive communication and consultation.
  • Manage deal implementation by structuring, negotiating and attending to legal matters & Conditions precedent (CP).
  • Ensure ongoing risk management by reviewing risk annually, assessing performance, undertakings, client visits and engaging with Transaction and Credit.
  • Improve performance of team by providing on the job training, knowledge sharing and identifying suitable formal & informal training.
  • Get involved in non-deal specific projects by providing expert advice & training, testing and implementing.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned
  • Monitor and assess credit exposure for any increase in risk by assessing exposures for appropriateness taking into consideration the client business performance and market conditions.
  • Adapt to changes in all relevant legislation and industry trends by attending relevant training sessions or informal meeting with relevant divisions.
  • Lead transaction to close by completing deal assessments; running various pricing scenarios; structuring the transaction; negotiating legal documents; preparing credit applications and executing on compliance and presenting application to credit committee.
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships by collaboration across all clusters; clear communication; agreeing on objectives and timelines and requesting stakeholder input in decision making.
  • Work closely with the Executive to close transactions by sharing professional skills; completing deal assessments; running various pricing scenarios and scoping financial models; structuring the transaction; executing on compliance and presenting application to credit committee.
