Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager Product Safety, the Principal Safety Engineer will join the Product Integrity Function and will support management of the Product Safety System across Australasia. In particular, the role seeks to develop and implement Safety Engineering standards within Babcock Australasia as part of its System Engineering capability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead the development and management of the safety engineering capability, encompassing our people, processes, tools and data, to meet the current and future needs of Babcock Australasia across all of our products.
  • Lead the development and implementation of plans and procedures to ensure that the products (goods and services) we provide to our customers are safe.
  • Monitor the maturity and health of safety systems.
  • Apply knowledge and experience to guide, produce and review technical solutions and documentation that enable safety engineering.
  • Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and process improvements.
  • Deliver and monitor assigned tasks and projects ensuring requirements are delivered to time, quality and cost objectives.
  • Ensure capability and project risks for safety engineering are communicated appropriately to relevant stakeholders and leadership.
