Description:

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to join their team in Adelaide.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar Health, Safety & Environment role
  • Diploma Work Health and Safety or Graduate certificate or equivalent in Work Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Lead Auditor Qualification in Safety, Environment or Quality management systems (desirable)
  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/stakeholders
  • Experience in multiple software applications and/or business information systems
  • Ability to take initiative on individual tasks and work collaboratively on team projects

    The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to join their team in Adelaide

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Principal SHEQ Advisor, your role will be multifaceted with responsibilities spanning across various areas. You will help design and implement specific programs addressing workplace health & safety for our people across aviation, clinical, corporate, and retail disciplines/functions.
You will be involved in overseeing injury management and RTW functions across SA and the NT whilst being responsible for maintaining the organisations accreditation to all safety, environmental and quality accreditation programs.
As the Principal SHEQ Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the RFDS continues to deliver safe, environmentally sustainable high-quality services by implementing effective SHEQ systems and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement workplace-specific Occupational Health and Organisational Wellbeing programs
  • Provide support to workers returning to work
  • Drive and maintain organisational wellbeing programs
  • Conduct workplace assessment in relation to specific health, safety and wellbeing issues
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiate and participate in work site inspections, incident reporting and investigations
  • Contribute to maintaining our accreditation to all safety, environmental and quality accreditation programs
  • Participate in the strategic environmental plan for emission reduction within the RFDS
  • Drive the development, implementation and monitoring of an integrated management system
