The Industrial Connectivity and Control BU are seeking a motivated and creative engineer to join our team as silicon architect developing Industry 4.0 leading silicon solutions to drive growth in our global business. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in Limerick with excellent opportunities to work on leading edge development in Industrial automation. Our diverse portfolio of products encompassing Industrial communication (eg Ethernet Phys and switches, IO-Link, HBS,..) with configurable measurement and control ( precision Analog and Digital I/O), which operate in challenging high voltage industrial domains and facilitates a wide variation of skill development and technology node experience. This position will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to lead the development of large silicon systems working across multidisciplinary cross-functional teams including Digital Design, Verification, Layout, Test, Bench Evaluation and Applications. As a principal architect within ICC you will also have opportunity to interact directly with customer, helping to define products to meet their future needs and address any customer issues that may arise.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work closely with customer to identify and understand the key challenges which can lead to value creation and overcome the challenges they face.
  • Developing product architectures which leverage ADI’s unique capabilities to provide cost-effective solutions meeting the customers’ critical needs
  • Leading the business case development from a technical perspective to secure approval for investment.
  • Decomposition of system level requirements to specifications and requirements at the hardware block level.
  • Providing technical guidance to the development team, from architecture development through to design implementation of unique robust solutions to meet our customers needs.
  • Identification of emerging technical advancements in process development, architecture and circuit innovation with the objective of integrating into ICC group knowledge base.
  • Grow strong technical networks across ADI, represent and participate in internal technical conferences.
  • Clear communication to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, team members and collaborating ADI teams

Minimum qualifications

  • BEng + 15 Years Experience of IC development.
  • SoC/ASIC experience in defining, implementing and verifying mixed signal designs and signal chains.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design, tools and flows.
  • Experience with behavioural modelling tools such as MATLAB.
  • Design experience with circuits such as amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs
  • Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to lead investigations into new solutions
  • Strong inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills are required
  • Motivated, results oriented
  • Innovative mindset with willingness to explore and develop

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of Leading Mixed Signal IC development is preferred.
  • Experience in HV circuit design is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with communication protocol such as Ethernet Phy and IO-Link, valuable.
  • Knowledge of EMC standards and design methodologies advantageous.
