Responsibilities:
The Principal Software Engineer is a hands-on technology leadership role. As a senior technology leader, you are accountable for architectural and design direction, technical debt control, good code quality including code review healthiness, software delivery and finally, high level of collaboration and engagement with the development teams. You are also flexible and adaptable to dynamic work settings.
You are responsible for software development projects on .NET platform predominantly. Having previous experience and knowledge of Java and/or ReactJS are beneficial.

• Design new features across the Ideagen Products using .NET and/or Java and open-source technologies
• Work closely with Development Managers and Team Leaders, Software Engineers, and other Principal Software Engineers to build well architected cloud hosted and on-premises enterprise solutions
• Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Technical Product Owners, Front-end Development Engineers, Test Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure features are delivered to a high standard
• Collaborate with Product Design Team to create an optimal user experience
• Work across the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring that our products are delivered to a published roadmap within planned release cycles
• Contribute towards the defining and developing a Sprint backlog to achieve the goals set out by our Product team
• Provide unit tests to support and validate for any development work undertaken
• Contribute to the Development Team’s working practices and technology decisions
• Create necessary documentation relating to work produced
• Mentor and coach other development team members to help grow their technical skillsets

Any other duties that may be required by your Manager or the Company, providing you have been adequately trained to execute them. These duties may be required from time to time or on a permanent basis.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience architecting and building high-performance, scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise solutions
• Proven experience implementing cloud-native technologies such as containers, service meshes, microservices, immutable infrastructure, and declarative APIs
• Experience in creating and implementing effective CI/CD pipeline using current best practices, patterns, and tools
• Significant experience applying common object-oriented design patterns
• Demonstrable experience implementing .NET and/or Java programming best practices
• High understanding of secure coding practices, and educating development teams on secure alternatives to reduce or eliminate vulnerabilities in software
• Proven ability to deliver technical design within an enterprise application using .NET Core, Java, ASP.NET MVC, REST API, C#, and JavaScript
• Web application front-end development experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React is preferred
• Database development experience preferably in MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL with ability to write advanced SQL scripts
• Working experience in AWS technology stacks e.g., EKS, ECR, EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, and DynamoDB
• Working knowledge using CI/CD tools specifically Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Working knowledge using distributed version-control system such as Git
• Good understanding of Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum
• Ability to communicate effectively with different kinds of audience e.g., presenting a technical solution with developers, or highlighting pros/cons of an architectural design to the management team
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English
