Role Overview:
The Principal Solution Architect plays a critical role in shaping the technical and strategic direction of KX services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and embodying forward-thinking innovation. With a particular focus on kdb insights and kdb.ai, this role demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking. The Principal Solution Architect empowers our team members to develop into specialist practitioners, thereby elevating our service offerings to ‘expert services’ status. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Lead Training Programs: Design and implement comprehensive training sessions covering key products, tailored to the team’s skill levels and project needs.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Provide ongoing mentorship to team members, helping them to develop their skills in insights and AI technologies, and guiding their career development.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous learning by encouraging knowledge sharing, conducting workshops, and leading by example in staying abreast of industry trends and technologies.
  • Solution Design: Architect and design scalable, robust, and cost-effective solutions that integrate insights and AI capabilities, addressing both current and future business needs.
  • Estimation and Planning: Provide accurate estimates for project deliverables, considering resources, timelines, and technical complexities, to ensure successful delivery.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend the appropriate KX product and tools that best fit the project requirements. Identify feature gaps and issues within existing products and collaborate with the Research and Development (R&D) team to propose necessary improvements.
  • System Analysis: Conduct detailed performance assessments of client systems, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations for system enhancements, focusing on integrating insights and AI capabilities to drive business value.
  • Follow-up and Implementation Support: Monitor the implementation of recommended solutions, providing expert advice and adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in a technology-driven environment.
  • Expertise in kdb insights and kdb.ai technologies.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with global, cross-functional teams is a plus.
