We’re hiring for the Principal Specialist Building Surveyor role in our Field Surveying team at Auckland Council. The team is responsible for providing building inspection services to ensure Auckland grows with safe and sustainable buildings. We place a strong emphasis on customer-centric delivery and strive to provide the best business services possible.
As a Principal Specialist Building Surveyor, you will work closely with Team Leaders and Management to achieve our business goals. You will be the go-to expert, providing advanced specialist advice and technical training to the Building Consents Departments on legislative and regulatory matters that affect policy, strategic planning, and practice. The successful candidate will have a significant role in ensuring a consistent, high-quality, and customer-focused approach to building control services within our region.
This role requires a keen focus on ensuring continuous improvement of department policies, processes and systems, and addressing any compliance issues identified through internal and external audits. Thus, building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.
