Description:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Regression modeling
  • Time series modeling
  • Experience in data analysis, modeling, and predictive analytics
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven track record of improving forecasting accuracy and strategic decision making through data science and analytics

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Specialist in Data Science & Analytics to lead the analysis, modeling, and explanation of data to produce analytical results. The ideal candidate will develop standards, policies, software, and procedures for the development of analytical results and predictive models. They will define and execute useful analyses to solve complex problems and optimize the performance of data systems by discovering, cleaning, and utilizing appropriate data from enterprise systems. This is a hybrid role in Winston-Salem, NC. Current expectations would be to work onsite 2-3 days per week. However, the amount of onsite days per week could fluctuate and is flexible depending on business needs. This position is eligible for relocation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the improvement of strategic financial planning forecasting, risk and scenario analysis, maintenance repair and overhaul forecasting, part manufacturer approval exposure, and supplier furnished equipment forecasting.
  • Develop testing and validation methodologies and criteria to ensure accurate and reliable analytical results
  • Develop data/information and model quality metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of analytical models
  • Research new technologies and develop business cases to support their use in data science and analytics
  • Identify market trends, generate insights, and come to strategic business conclusions to support decision making across the organization
