Description:

Stantec works across several sectors within our Energy and Resources business including Waterpower & Dams, Transmission & Distribution, Waste & Generation, Nuclear and Minerals & Resources.
We have developed a strong reputation within the energy sector as a leading, progressive and forward-thinking consultancy, focused on delivering high quality outputs to ensure the client achieves their outcomes and business benefits. To support our ambitious growth plans, we are now seeking a Principal Structure Engineer to join us in any of our UK offices.
As a Principal, you will design and develop complex structural solutions in the energy sector and oversee the team both in the UK and in our overseas design centres. We are currently growing a new structural engineering capability within our Energy and Resources business and you have the opportunity to develop growth plans and support recruitment to develop a successful, well integrated team.
As well as being the team leader, you will be hands-on and actively participate in structural design work. You will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, ensuring technical excellence in all outputs.

You will have expertise in above ground superstructures, foundations of all types and deep substructures and you will deliver projects including the following:-

  • Concept and detail design for electrical sub-station work.
  • Structural design work on energy from waste plants (steelwork modification or new foundations).
  • Design of deep pumping stations.
  • Refurbishment and assessment of existing power stations.
  • Control buildings.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.
