JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Blast Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in blast engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and possess a PE (Professional Engineer) license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in blast design engineering, preferably in [mention relevant industries, e.g., mining, construction, demolition, etc.].
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license is required.
  • Proficiency in blast design software (e.g., BlastX, ConWep, ESS, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, SBEDS.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain Secret and/or Top-Secret Clearance

Responsibilities:

  • Develop blast design plans and specifications in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct site assessments and gather necessary data for blast design calculations.
  • Perform blast simulations and modeling using specialized software.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure blast designs meet project objectives and safety standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, drawings, and documentation for client review and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support during the implementation and execution of blast operations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in blast engineering technology and industry best practices.
  • Manage complex explosive safety Scopes of work to develop and submit explosive site safety plans to the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDESB).
  • Familiarity with ASCE, ACI, UFC, and DENIX (DESR) design criteria.
  • Expected travel approximately 25%
