JOB DESCRIPTION

U.S. Bank is seeking a CICS/MQ Systems Programmer on z/OS with applications analysis experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and supporting variety of mainframe and ancillary products. Analyzes user hardware and software needs and recommends upgrades or new purchases. Evaluates new and existing software products. Formulates system scope and objectives; works in all phases of systems analysis and implementation activities. Works with requestors to ensure a complete and successful deployment. Provides status reporting to senior management. Involves senior management, as necessary, to resolve problems in a timely manner. Analyzes, implements, maintains, and documents mainframe system software. Performs software installations and upgrades to CICS, IBM MQ z/OS and related products. Diagnoses, isolates, and debugs software problems and performs problem resolutions. Performs the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that business application systems can be effectively developed and implemented.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
  • At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience in: System software infrastructure, Technical troubleshooting and Software installation/support
  • Hands on system programming experience
  • Experience supporting CICS in a CPSM configuration and IBM MQ z/OS
  • SME in IBM z/OS Operating System
  • Extensive experience in JES2, JCL and TSO/ISPF experience
  • Experience with system and transaction dump analysis
  • COBOL, Assembler or other programming languages
  • Hands on experience in scripting Languages like REXX, CLIST or SAS.
  • Third Party Vendor Product installation, maintenance and support experience
  • Working with vendors to open issues and provide documentation
  • IT service change management and IT availability management experience

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE OFFERS A HYBRID/FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, WHICH MEANS THERE’S AN IN-OFFICE EXPECTATION OF 3 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK OUTSIDE THE OFFICE LOCATION FOR THE OTHER DAYS.
