The team at QinetiQ are anticipating a number of roles that we will be recruiting for, and as such, we are seeking a Principal Systems Safety Engineer to join our Advisory division, based in Brisbane .
As a Principal Systems Safety Engineer , you will be supporting complex Defence projects.
Your responsibilities will include;
Focus on system safety (e.g. look for ways to improve system safety; assist and prepare for Reliability Program, System Safety Working Group, etc and assist with safety initiatives)
Managing the system safety aspects for UAS platforms
Provide oversight and guidance to UAS acquisition projects via leadership of a UAS System Safety Integrated Project Team
Provide advice and guidance on system safety engineering analysis techniques, processes, and software assurance necessary for design and implementation
Conduct reviews of system safety contract deliverables, as well as sustainment and acquisition documentation
Mentor and develop engineering staff on system safety
Conducting system safety and capability risk assessments
Improving and enhancing UAS system safety and associated processes
To be the successful in the position of Principal Systems Safety Engineer , you will need to bring with you;
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience as a system safety engineer for aviation products
Previous aviation experience
Experience with aviation regulations
Highly motivated with a positive attitude
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Supporting continuous improvement and cultural initiatives
Completed or willing to complete the DASA and CASG system safety courses
Completed all training courses to effectively execute the position and to hold the required Engineering Authority
Applicants MUST hold a minimum NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance
