Principal Technical Program Manager

If so, a Data Technical Program Manager role in Microsoft Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) may be a good fit for you!
Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) is a global engineering organization that works with Microsoft’s largest customers on cutting-edge technologies to address their toughest technical challenges. ISE’s SolutionOps Technology Domains are organized around areas of technical specialization, and we work in tandem with our Industry Development Crews in end-to-end, code-with engagement to help customers design, build and deploy enterprise solutions.
We are hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager. In this role, you will rely on your experience with the complexities of data platforms, like data ingestion, data quality, data governance and enterprise scale data sharing. You will apply your knowledge in established patterns like Modern Data Warehouse, Data Fabric and Data Mesh to help our customers’ Engineers create and deploy their data estate solutions. You will use your engineering background to help deliver reusable software artifacts, and your passion for partnership to help Product Engineering teams prioritize investments that address our customers’ needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years experience in engineering or technical program management for Cloud Data platforms, products, and services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Technical program management experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, triaging, and managing priorities
  • Proficiency in creating technical reports, white papers, or case studies
  • Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
  • 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 6+ years experience in engineering or technical program management for Cloud Data platforms, products, and services.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Enjoy travel and comfortable with regional travel up to 25%

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
