About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Private Rental Assistance Program Worker! You will work closely with Homelessness Entry Point team to prevent homelessness and reduce preventable exits from private rental.

Responsibilities include

• Maintain strong working relationships with real estate agencies and other appropriate bodies
• Participate in, comply with, and be supported by WHS outreaching worker safety risk management processes
• Assist client to liaise and negotiate with real estate agents, including understanding rental ledgers and reporting maintenance
• Develop collaborative relationships with local support agencies to promote the program and assist with referrals
• Maintain all notes and data for client assistance into the client management system database (SAMIS)

This is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 6 months, based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in conditions SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will have

• Diploma or tertiary qualification in Social Work or Human Services field
• A working understanding of and experience in a human service environment
• A working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (essential)
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander homelessness including causes and issues
• A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
