Job Description
You will develop high quality process designs in the areas of process safety, reliability, margin, energy improvement and low carbon fuel. Ensure a timely delivery of project deliverables for the phases ASSESS and SELECT and a high quality level of support to the Project Execution department during DEFINE and EXECUTE.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary engineering qualification, usually chemical engineering
  • Understanding of continuous process plant operations, ideally oil refining (distillation, conversion, treating etc), or oil and gas processing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical (process plant) risk management techniques and decision making to As Low as Reasonably Practicable
  • Familiar with Process Engineering DEPs, API/ISO/AS etc.
  • Experience as a project or process engineer in (preferably) a Major Hazard Facility.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence, strong assurance and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Developing creative and innovative solutions to meet project objectives while striving for a minimized project spend.
  • Project Manager & Designer for the development stages (IDENTIFY, ASSESS and SELECT) for the appointed projects
  • Accountable for delivery of high quality deliverables during the development stages of the project (business case, Basis of Design, assessments in the areas of process safety/operability/constructability, project cost and schedule, execution plan, design reviews incl. HAZOPs, MOC, etc.)
  • Strong collaboration with the Project Engineering Contractor in the areas of cost estimation, project execution and scheduling and engineering disciplines
  • Ensure all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with AERO principles and agreed HSSE practices and procedure as outlined in the Geelong Refinery Management System
