You are qualified for the position if you have:

  • M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent attitude towards Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • Team player mentality and high respect for people.
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and continuous learning attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on in pilot plant and plant environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills both in Finnish and in English.
  • Good IT skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP).
  • Willingness to travel to some extent

Desirable skills and background:

  • A few years of relevant work experience in bioprocess, chemical and/or pulp & paper industry is an asset.
  • Industrial experience in various separation technologies (chromatography, ion exchange, membrane separations, crystallization) is an asset.
  • Practical experience in crystallization technologies is an asset.
  • Practical experience in capital engineering projects is an asset.
  • Practical experience in process automation projects is an asset

Responsibilities:

As a Process Development Engineer your main responsibilities will be:

  • Planning, executing, managing, and reporting of process development projects.
  • Participating in technology transfer, start-up, and plant optimization in Finland and abroad.
  • Acting as a proactive team member in global development projects both in pilot and plant scale.
  • Scheduling and organizing day-to-day pilot and laboratory work for development projects.
  • Supervising pilot plant and laboratory personnel in project setting.
  • Continuous improvement in safety culture and day-to-day operations.
