Atlas Roofing Shingles & Underlayment Division is seeking aProcess Engineerfor Ardmore, OK
PROCESS ENGINEER EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment preferred
PROCESS ENGINEER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Advanced mathematical abilities.
- Must be able to read and interpret governmental policies and procedures.
- Competent with ignition AutoCAD, Microsoft and Google office software, Internet, and email.
- Must possess exemplary attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
PROCESS ENGINEER EDUCATION, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering required.
Responsibilities:
- Define and resolve process problems through individual and team-based continuous improvement activities and structured problem solving methods.
- Work closely with all manufacturing departments to support and improve operations.
- Responsible for equipment design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques of engineering.
- Work closely with all plant management to monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of the plant.
- Work with outside contractors as needed to complete assignments on time and within budget.
- Make observations, collect and interpret data from other technical and operating staff to develop and implement process improvement.
- Provide technical leadership for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of plant environment controls and processes.
- Responsible for the oversight and sustainment of the Ignition application and control systems for the Shingle & Underlayment division.
- Work closely with operators and staff who oversee quality control of raw materials, finished products, plant maintenance, product specifications and productions schedules
- Works with plant engineers, corporate engineering and IT to develop and maintain consistent plant floor information systems to provide data access to the division.
- Work with QC Manager and Research and Development Center to support long term testing and strength standards.
- Identify root cause and recommend the appropriate corrective actions.
