We are currently looking for a Process Engineer or Senior Process Engineer to join our Ordinance Systems Inc. Team. You will work directly with our production Teams to support our manufacturing operations and lead positive change by troubleshooting problems, managing improvement projects, and making the process the best it can be.
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating current processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process. Many days, you will spend a majority of your day within the production environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar field.
  • 4+ years relevant experience for Process Engineer, 8+ years for Senior Process Engineer.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), Teamwork, and integration skills will be required to work effectively across facility functions at multiple levels.
  • Sound judgment, initiative and self-motivation, and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while dealing with a variety of issues in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be field after hours calls periodically.
  • Must be a flexible, adaptive person, with a spirit of service and a willingness to learn.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Experience in Process Chemical Design or supporting operations within a food processing, process chemical, propellants/energetics, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and hazard analysis experience - HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, etc.
  • Experience on major ($1M+) Capital Projects
  • Experience creating or analyzing mechanical systems and designs using CAD systems such as Inventor, Solidworks, or PTC Pro-E or CREO.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and Electrical Area Classifications (EAC)
  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and investigation
  • Familiarity with lean methodologies
  • Previous experience with Control Systems, specifically Siemens PCS7
  • Previous experience with Leading2Lean
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or Virginia
