Description:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will take responsibility for all design of shop processes and assembly activities for Titan Trailers. The ideal candidate is expected to pro-actively identify where processes can be adapted and optimized to ensure cost effectiveness. Throughout the product design process, the Manufacturing Process Engineer will verify practices for efficiency and accuracy in order to implement shop processes that are safe and improve quality. The Manufacturing Process Engineer must possess the capabilities to drive the requirements into the development and continuous improvement of products and processes. Specifically, the Manufacturing Process Engineer’s duties will include developing an in-depth knowledge of our products; strengths and weaknesses of shop procedures and processes; strengths and weaknesses of equipment; and the strengths and weaknesses of key personnel who contribute to the quality of the products offered by Titan Trailers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Process Engineer or a Manufacturing Engineer in a custom manufacturing environment with multiple product lines.
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing Techniques (Value Stream Mapping).
  • Experience manipulating Manufacturing BOMs required.
  • Experience with an ERP system such as Global Shop preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand “how” and “why” something works.
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
  • The ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate status of assigned projects/tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand both written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office software packages.
  • A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved.
  • Quality Control background including problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
  • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand current Titan products, processes, software and workflow.
  • Creation of assembly/process flow charts for manufacturing or rework activities.
  • Creation of Work Instructions for manufacturing or rework activities.
  • Creation of Manufacturing BOM or manipulate the Global Shop BOM for Manufacturing.
  • Develop systems to translate Engineering BOM to Manufacturing BOM using Global Shop ERP.
  • Ensuring that all assembly processes operate within lean manufacturing principles (Value Stream Mapping).
  • Work alongside manufacturing teams to identify improvements to existing manufacturing processes + include a cost benefit analysis for evaluation and approval.
  • Conduct work flow analysis and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and shop layout.
  • Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurement.
  • Initiate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) as related to manufacturing process improvements
  • Collaborate with Engineering to create best practices
