Cutting Edge Fabrication seeks a process engineer highly skilled in designing and developing manufacturing processes, material procurement, working with estimating, subcontracting, and designing fixturing to produce fabricated products for varied market segments. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of fabrication shop experience preferred. This role offers a pay range based on skillset and is an excellent opportunity for a person with an entrepreneurial spirit to grow within the company.

In this job, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist Project Planning - Identify costs and specify final requirements (labor and materials) for the project while working with the estimating department during this process. Assist in developing a schedule that allows the team to execute within the specified timeline.
  • Assist Materials Purchase - Research various materials and vendors in the market specific to each job.
  • Quality - Investigate and communicate quality requirements to ensure the project meets all design and functional requirements – including tolerances, material and paint specifications, and any other specifications crucial to estimating or manufacturing the job.
  • Production - Assist project implementation meetings so the activities of the production staff meet the project timeline. Work with shop supervisors and personnel to guide them through all aspects of the project. Communicate with leadership on any potential issues that may affect scheduling.
  • Documentation - Provide detailed documentation of all project phases to leadership.
  • Assist Sales - Work through fabrication details during the discovery process to ensure a proper and complete quote can be calculated and submitted.
  • Design - Utilize Cad experience to facilitate work holding concepts and drawings to support the build of the product.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication practices (laser and plasma cutting, welding, machining, bending, and layout).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines without affecting quality.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving design and functional issues during the project.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Inclination to achieve success through hard work.
  • Commitment to personal growth along with company growth.
  • Will work directly with the company president
  • Extensive CAD experience, including Solidworks.
  • Previous robotic welding experience is a plus.
  • Must have good attendance and be on time.
