Our client is a rapidly growing company within the Food Manufacturing sector and looking to add a key member to their leadership team. Lock Search Group is excited to present an opportunity to join a Okanagan Based facility as a Process Engineer. Our client is motivated to add a seasoned engineering professional who excels in a collaborative setting, and thrives on a hands-on approach. The incoming Process Engineer will be tasked with assessing strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to anticipate and address negative trends, implementing measures to meet annual targets for performance and resource utilization, and proposing initiatives to minimize costs and enhance productivity. Operational support is provided through a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), alongside conducting analyses for new projects and ensuring return on investment. Optimization projects for workstation and storage organization are executed, alongside establishing standard operational times and developing adaptable manufacturing systems. Coordination of continuous improvement initiatives and approval of production-related modifications are key responsibilities, along with offering technical support for corporate projects. Additionally, adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including ergonomic practices and proper use of protective equipment, is emphasized.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, automated production, or mechanical engineering.
- 3 + years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
- Proficient understanding of the manufacturing sector.
- Possess a keen mechanical intuition.
- Familiarity with a CMMS system is advantageous.
- Track record in devising and executing continuous improvement strategies within manufacturing environments.
- Capable of thriving under pressure, adept at managing shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional collaborative skills and strategic thinking prowess.
- Champion of change, adept at influencing and supporting team dynamics.
- Intermediate proficiency in 3D CAD software is beneficial.
- Possession of Green Belt certification is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to inspire others
- Strong organizational aptitude, with a proactive approach to prioritization and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
- Assess strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to foresee and address adverse variances with the aim of mitigating them.
- Implement necessary measures to achieve annual targets for performance, labor efficiency, and raw material utilization.
- Proactively propose enhancements and initiatives aimed at reducing labor expenses, enhancing productivity, and minimizing losses.
- Provide operational support utilizing a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Conduct preliminary analysis and stay abreast of technological advancements for new project inquiries.
- Conduct return on investment (ROI) evaluations and ensure target achievements during project execution.
- Evaluate workstation and storage organization, executing optimization projects for space utilization.
- Conduct time and motion analyses to establish standard operational times.
- Develop adaptable manufacturing systems and methodologies to enhance flexibility and efficiency.
- Lead and coordinate continuous improvement efforts to streamline daily operations.
- Review and approve requests for production-related modifications, whether concerning machinery, programmable logic controllers (PLC), parameters, or operational protocols.
- Offer technical assistance and represent operational interests in corporate projects (R&D, marketing, quality control, etc.).
- Advocate for and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, encompassing ergonomics, safe operating procedures, cleanliness protocols, WHMIS guidelines, and consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
