The Opportunity
This role will work closely with production, maintenance and plant leadership teams to provide engineering solutions that improve the plants processes. The Process Engineer will report to the Process Project Engineering Manager and essential functions include but are not limited to the following.
Design methods for maintaining or increasing plant processes while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.
Troubleshoots plant process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
Monitors equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.
Designs and conducts plant trials to determine the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.
Determines the layout of piping, equipment, and utilities for plant process improvements.
Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.
Monitors equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.
Prepare, submit, and manage through to completion all assigned CAPEX improvement projects.
The Skills you will bring to the team
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in an Engineering discipline from a four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

The opportunity will be based in St. Johns, MI. This salaried role works Monday – Friday 8a-5p with flexibility to work earlier or later based on project needs. (more details about the shift schedule will be shared by your recruiting team)
