Description:

JOB INTRODUCTION

Graymont Marbleton is seeking a well-organized, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Process Engineer.
Canada - QC - Marbleton

This individual will lead numerous technical items within the plant, but not limited to, managing capital projects and analyzing and identifying process improvement opportunities involving safety, efficiency, quality, calcination, combustion, hydration, slaking, crushing, screening, storage, and lime/limestone handling. The keys for success will be:

  • A strong focus on safety, open/honest communication, and teamwork
  • A continuous improvement attitude in all aspects of both personal performance and the plant operation
  • Ability to provide leadership for the operation to ensure safe, efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective production of lime and limestone products

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of industrial experience (lime, cement, or minerals processing industry preferred)
  • Self-starter with very strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Proven ability with project management from concept to completion (budgeting, documentation, support coordination, etc.)
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and demands
  • PLC programming and automation skills a strong asset
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards software package a plus
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines or to ensure resolution of plant problems
  • Billingual French & English

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, process efficiency, and quality control
  • Manage the Process Optimization Program (POP) in conjunction with other members of the POP team
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to continuously improve plant technical knowledge, process, and efficiency
  • Identify, develop, continuously improve, and communicate the best available process practices developed within Graymont
  • Develop, manage, and implement capital projects
  • Keep abreast of the latest technological developments related to the lime industry
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the workforce
  • Participate in taking process measurements and performing associated heat and mass balances
  • Function as a relief supervisor to assist with coverage for supervisory staff
  • Perform on-call duties in rotation with the plant management team
