Description:
Reporting to the Converting Operations Manager, the Process Engineer responsibilities include overseeing equipment and processes on several manufacturing lines which produce consumer tissue products.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical preferred).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with various computer programs, including Microsoft® Office Suite
Responsibilities:
- Learn the design and function of production equipment.
- Conduct regular Gemba walks to observe and improve processes.
- Lead problem solving activities following the DMAIC process.
- Create and optimize changeover processes.
- Perform quality checks and manage non-conformance CAPA activities.
- Lead and manage process improvement projects, including trials.
- Design and maintain centerline documents.
- Maintenance Coordination including:
- Follow up on DH logs, including corrective tasks and work notifications.
- Identify and prioritize jobs for maintenance and scheduling shutdowns (MP&S).
- Manage work order backlog and day-to-day task priorities for maintenance leads.
- Serve as the main communication link with the central maintenance team.
- Align resources required in the event of a breakdown.
- Coordinate shutdowns for maintenance activities.
- Initiate and prioritize breakdown elimination (BDE) processes.
