INTRODUCTION:

We are currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer who can effectively develop and deliver capital projects to address business opportunities in any of our six manufacturing facilities, with their primary focus being on our two wildlife facilities Located in Fargo, ND and Lubbock, TX. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Fargo, ND and there will be 10% - 20% travel expectancy to our other locations. The Process Engineer will be responsible to work with facility staff, subject matter experts, vendors, and contractors to manage assigned capital projects through the entire life cycle of a project, including conceptual engineering, scope and budget development, equipment procurement, construction management, commissioning, and employee training. The successful candidate will work side-by-side with the facility management and corporate business unit leaders to identify and implement the most cost effective, safe solutions to business challenges.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering or combination of a technical degree with relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a process engineer or in a related role
  • Experience with grain storage, handling, cleaning and blending systems preferred
  • Project management experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team building skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit capability preferred
  • Ability of working safely at job sites in and around large mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience with dealing with multiple projects at a time
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, HAACP and other Food Safety standards
  • Familiar with food grade processing plant design practices and standards
  • Proactive and results oriented, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Effective application of project management skills applied to capital projects
  • Lead project scope development to identify the core problem and most effective solutions, including solutions that may not require capital spending
  • Manage several projects in different phases of completion simultaneously
  • Provide engineering technical assistance to the facility’s staff as needed
  • Assist manufacturing, safety and quality as required
  • Manage capital projects from the conceptual design phase through scope and budget development, through facility startup and training
  • Use sound problem solving methods to ensure the root cause is identified and the most effective technology/equipment is selected
  • Maintain technical knowledge of processing systems, equipment and design standards
  • Develop bid packages including scope descriptions, process flow diagrams, control narratives, equipment lists and specifications for assigned capital projects
  • Manage the construction and equipment bidding process
  • Develop detailed turnaround schedules for implementation of process systems that require plant downtime
  • Track project expenditures to complete projects within authorized budgets
  • Adhere to the engineering policies and standards used within the company
