JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Process Engineer that will focus on designing and implementing process solutions for small to large as part of the pre-projects and projects team. This is an opportunity to interface with our extensive customer base and provide industry-leading processing solutions. This opportunity offers unlimited career growth with an industry leader.
You can be based in any of our offices in Vernon Hills IL (north suburb of Chicago) or Ontario Canada.
You may be required to travel 35% of your time regionally / globally

Responsibilities:

As a Process Engineer you will:

  • Support projects from a conceptual development phase (sales) through implementation to start of commercial operation.
  • Work in a multi-project environment where the role adapts to the needs of each individual project.
  • Act with full responsibility for technical solution and quality aspects of project performance, while securing project management buy in and being aligned with a focus on customer needs and satisfaction.
  • Work in close cooperation with Plant Integration team in each of the market companies.
  • Work with customers and colleagues in an international environment, but also utilize and collaborate with resources throughout the entire organization.
  • Conduct / support quotation development in conjunction with the project manager and account managers for systems/modules.
  • Estimate equipment costs. Source and price equipment/services in coordination with the project manager.
  • Provide sales support by giving technical presentations
  • Understand and utilization of Plant Integration business process, organization, task, cost and quality.
  • Plan and structure utilizing resources for driving & follow-up of meeting deadlines and objectives.
  • Work with MS Project and Plant Engineering on problem solving of cross functional, thermodynamics, flow dynamics, production planning as it relates directly to the sizing of equipment and system solutions, experience with industry standards for process piping, equipment and the installation thereof, strong understanding of automation control application, instrumentation applications, start-up/commissioning of systems and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Solve technical and “soft” problems, collect info/data and consolidate in a structured way
  • Offer alternatives in costs risks and think outside the box
  • Maintain record of problems & solutions
  • Through teamwork communicate ideas clearly, concisely and effectively and clarify purpose, importance and stress major points
  • Continuously seek to improve understanding of the market and welcome new challenges and opportunities
  • Regulatory experience/awareness with CFIA, APPS, TSSA, 3A, CSA, FDA, OSHA, etc.
