Description:
About the Role: We are looking for a Process Engineer to join the GORE® VIABAHN® VBX Balloon Expandable Endoprosthesis (VBX Stent Graft) engineering team. In this role, you will support commercial manufacturing as part of a dynamic and collaborative team.
This position will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Science degree in engineering required and a minimum of 3 years experience in operations or engineering (a minimum of 2 years of which in an engineering position)
- Demonstrated experience with continuous process improvement and applying lean manufacturing techniques
- Proficient in CAD software, Servo and/or PLC applications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and improve electromechanical issues through fundamental understanding of the functionality of mechanical systems used in manual assembly processes
- Ability to document, communicate, and present technical bodies of work
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions
- Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making
- Ability to travel up to 10%
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Bachelors of Science in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience coaching or mentoring
- Experience with quality systems, documentation, and methodologies (for example, GMP, ISO 9001, APQP, House of Quality, etc.)

Responsibilities:
- Sustain existing manufacturing lines, specifically the maintenance of manufacturing fixtures and equipment, and have a willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor (7 day operation)
- Ensure manufacturing proceses run consistently and meet performance targets by reducing costs, maximizing efficiency, and minimizing manufacturing loss
- Improve manufacturing processes by leveraging lean principles, good manufacturing practices and six sigma methodologies to reduce costs through the elimination of waste in the value stream
- Lead engineering projects and track project progress, present periodic status updates to key stakeholders and works to resolve obstacles
- Design and build fixtures, equipment and tools as needed to increase efficiency, ergonomics, safety and quality
- Collaborate with other engineers to analyze manufacturing/assembly issues and identify, test and implement the most effective solutions in a timely manner
- Conduct equipment and process validations, qualifications and verifications
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and provide support to internal customers in a variety of functional areas
- Collaborate with a cross functional teams to transfer new products into production by providing recommendations regarding product design, assembly techniques and manufacturing processes
- Provide knowledge-based solutions to the electro-mechanical issues for key production related equipment
