PROCESS OPERATOR TRAINEE
Gladstone Regional Council is proud to help facilitate the upskilling of our region in a diverse range of roles and across a variety of Council locations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation that is committed to delivering outstanding service to our community.
Council has an opportunity to appoint a maximum-term full time Process Operator Trainee to contribute to Council’s success. This traineeship opportunity is for a 2-year period to undertake a Certificate III Water Industry Operations based at the Gladstone Waste Water Treatment Plant. The employment contract will commence on Monday 20 January 2025.
ABOUT YOU
Council is looking for motivated candidates who have a strong work ethic with a desire to learn and succeed as part of a high performing team.
This role crosses many disciplines and will see you learning and developing skills and knowledge in fields such as electrical and mechanical fault finding, instrumentation, process control, and laboratory/analytical. It will see you diving into science, chemistry and mathematics while using multiple I.T. platforms such as the MS suite of applications, SCADA and touch screen control systems.
We provide potable water for public consumption and treat waste water to meet environmental guidelines, with some exposure to raw sewerage so there are legislative and water quality guidelines to learn and abide by – the general public is on the receiving end of the decisions we make on a daily basis, we take this responsibility very seriously.
Your work will include monitoring and interpreting data sets from laboratory results and field instrumentation for both waste water and water treatment plants. Preparing and populating site data sheets, batching and preparing various chemicals, monitoring, manipulating and adjusting our treatment plants both onsite and remotely.
