Description:

WWC Federal is seeking a Process Optimization Advisor - CPA to support a contract with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Exercise due care and professional judgment, including gaining an understanding of IRS business operations and financial activity and providing technical accounting expertise to ensure appropriateness of accounting treatment, and quality and reliability of the accounting transactions.
  • Advise the IRS CFO on applicable legislation, accounting standards and guidance for implementation and incorporation into business operations.
  • Identify opportunities for utilizing data analytics to deliver insights or showcase how data could be used to deliver insights and provide recommendations for infrastructure or process changes to improve data availability or efficiency of analytics.
  • Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and present recommendation for process improvement or reengineering for accounting and financial management processes. Functional business areas may include but are not limited to budget formulation, budget execution, accounts receivable, reimbursable processing, general ledger, cost management, travel, credit card services, and custodial revenue accounting.
  • Assist the IRS CFO in analyzing, updating and maintaining general transactional posting models, including identifying and proposing changes to existing and new posting models in accordance with new legislation, standards or guidance.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.

Travel:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Ability to favorably pass a federal background investigation including fingerprints.
  • Must be able to obtain sufficient security clearances to access IRS facilities, systems and Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) information in the performance of the contract. US citizenship and full tax compliance are required to obtain staff like access.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working directly with Federal generally accepted accounting principles, techniques and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. WWC Federal will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree.
