Jämsänkoski plant (Genencor International Oy) belongs to IFF Health & Biosciences (H&B) division, an innovative market leader in industrial biotechnology and a pioneering developer of enzyme technology and bioproducts. The H&B division plants produce enzymes and other bioproducts for industries such as detergent and textile industries, food industry, and as enhancers in animal feed. Enzymes and bioproducts can significantly reduce environmental impacts in various applications and reduce the use of chemicals. The Jämsänkoski plant mainly produces fungal and yeast enzymes, and the products are in liquid form. The factory’s customers are mainly in feed, bioethanol and food markets. Production works 24/7 and about 95% of production goes to export.

This role represents an opportunity to join the exciting world of Health & Biosciences at our enzyme production plant in Jämsänkoski with the main responsibility in process safety. We will offer you wide-ranging challenges to utilize and grow your knowledge and experience, and to become a subject matter expert in your area of responsibility. You are self-driven to make production processes safer, and you have a collaborative and analytical approach to accomplish these goals.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

  • Experience in industrial environment especially related to chemical handling.
  • Experience and/or education in process safety and chemical hazards.
  • Experience in process engineering and/or capital project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and developing process and chemical safety at the site and providing expertise in both. You will be working on process safety management system and on various of its elements, including process technology documentation and process hazard analysis.
  • Being responsible for chemical handling and storage.
  • Investigating and improving on near misses.
  • Participating in capital projects related to your area of expertise.
  • Connecting the site with global SHE/PSM network and regulatory agencies on best practices and compliance requirements.
