JOB DESCRIPTION
Working as part of the Processing Plant Maintenance Team, this role will be responsible for maintaining the electrical systems, and all related electrical and electronic equipment and machinery across the plant.
- Carries out maintenance repairs and improvements to electrical equipment in the process plant areas and installs new equipment when required to safety standards required by regulatory authorities.
- Diagnoses and rectifies faults under the pressure of unscheduled downtime or power outage to maximise plant availability.
- Updates electrical circuit drawings when modifications are made to keep a currently accurate set of drawings.
- Installs calibrates and maintains all instrumentation including DCS. Modifies and upgrades PLC programs as required.
- Records all work done and modifications for historical records. Keeps time sheets. Informs Electrical supervisor immediately of all significant down-time.
- Attend and contribute to pre-shift safety and toolbox safety meetings.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for particular equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal Electrical trade qualification required.
- Current registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board
- Current First Aid Certificate beneficial
- Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
Experience:
- Up to 5 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a processing or heavy industry would be well regarded.
- New Zealand electrical mining endorsement well regarded.
- Previous exposure to PLC’s, control systems and instrumentation is essential.
- Previous experience with high voltage switching would be advantageous
