Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and directing resources to tackle technical issues that arise during the shift that results in meeting safety, quality and delivery targets
  • Develop and maintain best possible moulding process parameters to meet or improve cycle time targets while maintaining high quality standards through SMEDS and continuous Improvements
  • Create SOP standards related to production processes, robot set-ups, tooling changes, repairs and ensure that all team members are trained, follow and comply with the procedures
  • Ensure that all production processes are established, benchmarked, backed-up and maintained and that all moulding employees are trained
  • Provide training to all indirect reports on robots, mould changes, color changes, stack changes, insert changes and product processing parameters
  • Commissioning of new equipment: robots, IMMs, moulds achieving forecasted cycle times
  • As required assist with mould changeovers
  • Fostering a working environment that is fair and equitable
  • Providing support to the Set up Supervisor
  • Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)

REQUIRED DUTIES:

  • Ensure that insert changes and color changes are completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner according to SOPs
  • Ensure all machines are running to master process and communicate when master process is deviated
  • Train and assist Set-up Technicians at mould and machine start up
  • Establish and ensure that master process are according to company standards and that produced parts are in full compliance with company quality standards
  • Develop and maintain the process standards in which all parts are manufactured
  • Develop and maintain best possible injection moulding process parameters and cycle times
  • Work closely with Maintenance team in maintaining tools, moulds, and equipment in optimal condition
  • Champion cost reduction and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist Set up Supervisor as required – training of new staff and audits to determine root causes and corrective actions
  • Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues
  • Education and Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in direct/indirect supervision of mould making and injection moulding machine processing to produce moulded parts – Husky equipment experience an asset
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or accredited mould making program or relevant College Technical Certification
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience using Lean Manufacturing methodologies, i.e.. SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience developing Continuous Improvements in production processes
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership and coaching abilities – able to demonstrate several examples of empowering, developing and motivating people
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic tooling background an asset
  • Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office experience required)
  • Experience in crane, scissor lift and forklift an asset
