JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE

As a Procurement Buyer Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services necessary for the operations of the organization. This multifaceted role requires a keen understanding of supply chain management, negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with suppliers. You will be responsible for analyzing demand, identifying cost-effective procurement strategies, and coordinating the purchasing process to meet the company’s needs while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery.

TOP KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Analyze demand forecasts and inventory levels to determine procurement needs.
  • Develop procurement plans and strategies to meet operational requirements efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and specifications.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance through regular evaluation and feedback.
  • Execute purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor order status and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the procurement process.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment between procurement activities and operational needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and track inventory movements to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
  • Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient inventory management practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within the procurement function.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to drive improvements in procurement processes.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Primary language used in daily operations is English. Additional primary company languages include Spanish, French, and Dutch.
  • Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals and various correspondence from both internal and external.
  • Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and Word specifically. CRM skills required.
