About the role:
The Procurement Data Analyst key responsibility is to define, seek and improve systems and processes to deliver greater agility within the Procurement and Supply Function.
Furthermore, analysis of both systems and processes, forecast spend and usage data to support commercial opportunities whilst gathering data to monitor performance of suppliers for supplier management reviews as appropriate and prepare presentation of data to the business where required.
Led by the Procurement & Supply Manager, this role will develop analytical tools to expedite and improve financial decision making on all purchasing.

What’s involved:

  • Review and share forecast purchasing needs with suppliers to ensure appropriate balance of value for money and delivery in full and on time is obtained
  • Provide improved data, systems, processes and analytics on all purchasing decisions
  • Develop forecasting capabilities for the purchasing value chain to assist decision making/recommendations
  • Develop insights using historical data, and provide recommendations based on the application of advanced analytics capabilities
  • Liaising with the Data and Analytics team to leverage tools, resources and analytics applications in the procurement environment
  • Build SQL queries to output specific data to analyse spend, usage, supplier forecasting for immediate and ongoing requirements
  • Analyse existing systems, making suggestions/enhancements to identify and develop process improvements to support the Procurement and Supply team to increase efficiency within the team and make recommendations to the wider business
  • Undertake non-budgeted project ad hoc programme and project management tasks and activities as requested
  • Ensure all purchasing activity and actions are conducted with the wellbeing and safety of our Customers Team and suppliers
  • Maintain detailed and accurate purchasing criteria for all goods and services

Who we’re looking for.
Our ideal candidate has a passion for all things data analytics with a good understanding of procurement principles and demonstrated strong understanding of computer systems, particularly use of Excel (Macro VBA), MS Office, ERP and analytical tools such as Python, Power BI & SQL (essential)
You will be action oriented by nature, “tech savvy” and be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders across the business. You will also hold strong financial acumen and be able to confidently manage complex situations.

You’ll need:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Data Science preferred
  • Strong financial analytical experience and proven experience/skills within the data and IT sectors
  • Practical skills within a traditional function to produce relevant insights in a large scale
  • Ability to analyse and handle large unclean data sets, using various software such as python, Excel VBA modules/macros to derive insights
  • Experience in writing SQL queries essential
  • Experience combining qualitative and quantitative information to produce data driven recommendations to be adopted by operational practitioners
  • Enjoy working in a team environment and collaborating with various stakeholders across the business.
