PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR – BENELUX, ITALY & FRANCE

Are you a seasoned procurement leader ready to take on a transformative role? We invite you to join Royal Unibrew as the Procurement Director for Benelux, Italy, and France.
Please note: This role is based in our offices in Bunnik, Netherlands, at our Vrumona location.
A bit about the role:
This newly established position offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand our in-market procurement organization. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer and part of the Group Procurement Leadership team, you will oversee a large portfolio with 6 direct reports across three markets.

Key responsibilities & primary tasks:

  • Lead and inspire a diverse procurement team to deliver outstanding procurement outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting teamwork and energizing the team to achieve both operational and strategic goals.
  • Implement procurement best practices and develop standardized processes.
  • Execute category and sourcing strategies locally, ensuring cost efficiency and value maximization.
  • Manage contracts and supplier performance, driving service consistency, quality, innovation, sustainability, cost efficiency, and supply resilience.
  • Lead the risk and governance agenda, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure supply resilience.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and EU regulations, adjusting team priorities to maintain competitiveness.
  • Coordinate the annual budget process, including setting standards, PPV reporting, and performance management.
  • Oversee project pipeline delivery, achieving cost savings, stretch targets, and additional value outcomes such as cash flow, sustainability, and NPD.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for you who are enthusiastic and have a solution-oriented approach with strong analytical and negotiation skills. You have s strong aptitude for risk management to enhance supply resilience. Also, you can recognize your self in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree: professional CIPS qualification or similar is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, including functional leadership and experience in direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Experience in an international or matrixed organization, preferably within the CPG or food and beverage industry.
  • Proven track record in developing teams and fostering talent to drive performance.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, ERP systems, and procurement tools, including commodity management.
  • Strong project and change management skills, with a history of initiating and embedding changes, improving controls, and driving process improvements.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
