Our client is an established engineering services company offering EPCM services to the energy, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. With a long-standing presence within SEA and increasing projects overseas, they are looking for a Procurement Director to spearhead the team.
Your new role
The Procurement Director oversees strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain activities across multiple countries. Their key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Procurement Planning: Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with business goals. This involves identifying cost-effective sourcing options, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners. The Procurement Director collaborates with them to optimise costs, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Risk Mitigation: Assessing and mitigating risks related to procurement processes. This includes evaluating supplier stability, geopolitical factors, and market fluctuations.
- Project Procurement: Managing procurement activities for specific projects within APAC and the Middle East. This involves coordinating with project managers, understanding project requirements, and ensuring timely material availability.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. The Procurement Director establishes procurement policies, monitors compliance, and drives ethical practices.
- Cost Optimisation: Identifying cost-saving opportunities, streamlining processes, and maximising value for the organisation.
- Team Leadership: Leading a team of procurement professionals, including buyers, category managers, and sourcing specialists. The Procurement Director provides guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Seasoned Procurement professional with solid experience in project procurement within the energy sector
- Regional exposure in working with cross-country teams to develop the most effective procurement & contract management for the region
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Exposure/experience in Subcontractor services for multidisciplinary projects (SMP, Civil, Maintenance, E&I)
