We are currently looking for a Full-Time Procurement Manager to join our team in our Port Washington, NY site. The Procurement Manager is responsible for the management of new and existing suppliers. This includes sourcing, negotiating, contracting, maintaining relationships, and developing strategies to minimize supply interruptions while optimizing pricing to ensure long-term savings. This person will work closely with all departments and must be able to collaborate effectively with others to ensure their procurement needs and specifications are met. This is a key position in our global organization and the successful candidate must be able to communicate procurement strategies clearly and effectively internally and across time zones. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple site-specific projects at one time and feel comfortable taking the lead when necessary.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA / BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Business Administration or related preferred
  • 4 years of procurement experience
  • Knowledge and experience within supply management preferred
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers while maintaining a strong relationship
  • Ability to travel to other states, mainly Oklahoma and Connecticut, with occasional travel to Denmark.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience working with SAP or other databases is preferred
  • Knowledge of GMP and regulations
  • Strong computer and Excel knowledge
  • Ability to establish timelines and prioritize objectives accurately and effectively in a cross functional environment
    Approximate salary range: $105,000 to $145,000. The salary range is an estimate in good faith for the position. Final compensation can vary based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Support overall objective of Global Procurement (supply risk mitigation, quality compliance, cost optimization, sustainability and innovation) in regard to materials and services at sites: Port Washington, NY (PW), Oklahoma City, OK (OKC), and Plainville, CT (PLV), enabling short- and long-term sustainable performance and improvement
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders at sites PW/OKC/PLV to facilitate and manage strategic and tactical procurement activities, such as sourcing, negotiations, contracting, supplier management, deviations and optimizations in accordance with the procurement strategy for PW/OKC/PLV
  • Sourcing of new materials and services and support implementation
  • Strategic vendor management for local and some regional and global suppliers
  • Global projects/tasks – including participation in global supply tasks forces, when needed
  • Responsible for tasks related to GMP materials:
  • Sourcing
  • Business Risk assessment and input to supplier approval form
  • Negotiation and contracting
  • Input to supplier evaluation forms
  • Escalation point of contact for Logistics in relation to major deviations from suppliers
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings
  • Facilitate quarterly business review meetings with site management and global procurement at sites PW/OKC/PLV
  • Facilitate yearly/regular business review meeting with suppliers on the list of responsibility for sites PW/OKC/PLV. Meeting conducted for suppliers within scope of our SOPs
  • Support category managers with category strategies and planning
  • Support implementation of category projects and strategies
  • Own and maintain multiple site procurement plan/strategy
  • Development of market intelligence and knowledge of the supply market
  • Support general procurement targets such as risk mitigation, cost savings and sustainability
  • Ensuring the use of the contract management system (Scanmarket)
  • Being the global procurement representative during audits at multiple sites
  • Other duties may be assigned
