Procurement Officer role in Local Government
Your new organisation
This WA Government Organisation are seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team. Commencing on a 6-month temporary basis, this role is available for an immediate start and has a view to permanency in the future.
Your new role
In this position, you will play a crucial role in optimising our procurement processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. Your analytical skills and strategic thinking will contribute to our overall success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
- Create procurement plans to meet business schedules
- Delegation of procurement workloads across the team
- Management of RFQs and RFTs for medium-high risk contracts
- Provide input into tender evaluations
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in procurement planning
- High level organisation and time management
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using procurement software
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices
