Location: Multimatic Niche Vehicles NA, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada

  • Interview process will occur at company’s Markham facility; first few weeks will be out of Markham facility as well

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Procurement Specialist will perform day-to-day procurement activities, assist with long term strategic procurement initiatives and cost reduction/avoidances. The responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist will involve procurement of a variety of electrical and mechanical automotive components and systems. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with Engineering, QA, and Materials team members, and will be required to maintain and grow internal and external business relationships. This role requires you to manage your assigned parts/vendors within SAP but also, at times, manually. Proven experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing industry and a technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years’ North America experience in purchasing preferably in automotive components and systems and 8-10 years of proven procurement success.
  • Have the ability to work in an independent environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Teams, and Word with advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Global, LCC procurement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration or Engineering is preferred.
  • Supply Chain accreditation or working towards is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Initiative-taking attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation.
  • Strong, effective communication with critical thinking skills and superior problem-solving abilities are key for this role.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset towards procurement.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership, plan, and execute the procurement process, end to end for your assigned vendors/parts. Supplier development and management will be a high priority.
  • Assist with vendor EDI onboarding and manage supplier EDI compliance.
  • Forecast and purchasing of finished & in process automotive components and systems through MRP management and EDI releases.
  • Manage vendor cost recovery (result of poor quality and delivery)
  • Assist with sustainable Procurement reporting and analysis.
  • Work in conjunction with the Materials group to ensure optimum inventory levels to avoid stock outs, overstock, and obsolete parts.
  • Continuous focus on cost down opportunities.
  • Tactical purchasing activities including purchase order creation, MRP monitoring, order tracking/expediting and others.
