Description:

Fate Therapeutics is currently seeking a motivated individual to support the company’s business planning and sourcing activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Procure-to-Pay processes for the organization, engaging with relevant cross functional teams to ensure materials and services meet manufacturing and development timeliness. Cell therapy manufacturing knowledge and familiarity with the pertinent regulations and how they apply to this field are desired. This is a full-time, exempt position located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or a related position in a biologics/pharmaceutical cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated skills processing high-volume procurement requests.
  • Effective negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Sarbanes Oxley compliance & ERP system experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word; PowerPoint ,Outlook, ERP/P2Psystems.
  • Strong project management skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • On-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise level.

COMPENSATION

  • The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including level, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location.
  • Fate offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package.
  • The anticipated salary range for this role is $73,000 - $83,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness and place orders with vendors in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and track order deliveries to meet target dates and adequate supply of materials necessary for GxP production and R&D operations.
  • Promptly resolve discrepancies with vendors (backorders, damaged shipments, invoicing, etc.).
  • Engage with cross functional teams to provide technical documentation as needed to support material enrollment, revision, receipt, and disposition.
  • Monitor supplier performance to manage service levels and promptly resolve delivery and/or material issues. Escalate issues to affected departments.
  • Research, analyze, and negotiate prices with suppliers/vendors to obtain services, products, or product information such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Implement, manage, and be a subject matter expert with the procurement systems and trainings; monitor and maintain Company purchasing system.
  • Maintain material and supplier database, such as material, contact information.
  • Define and track procurement KPI’s for visibility and process improvements.
  • Identify, resolve, and forecast problems and potential solutions to product availability and quality, including metrics, cost effective solutions, and multi-sourcing initiatives.
  • Adheres to good documentation practices.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
