The People Practice - Our client, a digital construction marketplace, is recruiting to fill the position below:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Our client is looking to hire a dedicated Procurement & Vendor Relations Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing project costs while nurturing positive vendor relationships.
- The successful candidate will lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing for buyers on the company’s platform.
- Additionally, you will oversee strategic vendor onboarding and cultivate relationships with vendors specializing in construction materials and industrial development space.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quantity surveying, Construction Procurement, Supply Chain or Vendor Relations.
- Proficiency in using CRMs and other technical skills is advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- Foster consistent vendor relations to address challenges, ensure timely product updates, communicate RFQs, and guarantee the delivery of quality materials to clients.
- Continuously onboard new vendors across various categories on the platform.
- Supervise daily order fulfillment operations, including order processing, loading, and delivery, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure the successful fulfillment of all RFQs.
- Maintain an accurate database of all vendors and leads.
- Meet with potential vendors to assess their products, inquire about services, negotiate pricing, and address product or service-related concerns.
- Conduct research to identify vendors offering competitive pricing and superior product quality.
- Monitor sales trends continuously to identify product popularity.
- Implement vendor selection programs to secure top-tier vendors.
- Collaborate with 3rd Party Logistics Partners, leveraging their order management and warehouse management software to optimize warehouse and fulfillment operations.
- Develop and contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the vendor team, enhancing order fulfillment and operational efficiency.
- Cultivate enduring relationships with onboarded vendors, driving improvements in vendor performance and lead times.
- Establish a vendor tiering system for performance assessment.
- Conduct interviews with new vendors and communicate their responsibilities and obligations upon approval.
- Continuously educate vendors on platform functionality, new features, and evolving processes and policies.
- Evaluate current vendor management programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide support to team members and the vendors they onboard.
- Regularly report on multiple fulfillment and performance KPIs.
